3 Fantastic JavaScript Class Options

Are you looking for a good JavaScript class?

Here are 3 fantastic options:

#1 – Skillshare Courses

Are you an active learner? Do you prefer to learn by doing? Then Skillshare is a fantastic place to find a good JavaScript course.

Every Skillshare class is project-based, so you learn by actually building something. Skillshare has over 25,000 classes, taught by professionals from companies like GitHub, Spotify, and Netflix.

Here are 2 of my favorite JavaScript class options on Skillshare:

If you’re a beginner looking to ease into the world of JavaScript, look no further than Chris Dixon’s JavaScript: Gentle Introduction for Beginners.

As the name implies, Chris’ course eases you into the world of JavaScript. At just an hour and 15 minutes, the course will get you up and running quickly.

JavaScript Essentials course card

If you’re looking for something more in depth, JavaScript Essentials is excellent.

At over 7 hours, the class gives you a thorough foundation on everything from basic syntax to best practices for building complex applications.

#2 – General Assembly

General Assembly’s self-paced JavaScript Circuit isn’t cheap, but it more than justifies the price with hands-on training and 1-on-1 mentorship.

JavaScript Class - General Assembly

Industry experts recognize General Assembly as a leading career accelerator because the quality of the instruction is excellent.

Cost: $1250 Notable Feature: 1-on-1 Mentorship Time to Complete: 10 Weeks

During the course, you’ll complete multiple projects and meet with a professional programmer to mentor you through the process.

#3 – The DIY JavaScript Class

If you prefer flexibility and don’t need structure, then rolling your own JavaScript class may be the best option for you.

I recommend starting with these two resources:

  • CodecademyCodecademy’s Intro to JavaScript walks you through syntax basics with easy-to-use examples.
  • Eloquent JavaScript – If a book is more your speed, the online version of Eloquent JavaScript is fantastic and up-to-date.
